A ring group lets several people answer calls to one team number. In this tutorial, we’ll configure a Reception group in our demo workspace. This feature uses Teams Business. Open Call Routing, choose Ring groups, and select Add ring group.

Give the group an unused internal number and a clear name. We’ll use six hundred for Reception. Select the members who should receive its calls. Here, that’s Alex on one thousand, and Jamie on one thousand and one.

Choose the ringing strategy. Ring all at once offers the call to the selected members together. Ring in order tries them in sequence. We’ll use Ring all at once, with a twenty-five-second ring timeout.

Now choose what happens if nobody answers. The available options include voicemail, another member, an external number, or hanging up. For this group, we’ll keep Voicemail and enter the team’s monitored email address.

Select Create ring group. The saved row shows its number, name, selected members and strategy. Check that the group is enabled. You can return to its edit button whenever those settings need to change.

The edit screen brings back our saved settings. Review the members, ring timeout and no-answer destination, then save any changes. Keep these details up to date when colleagues join or leave the team.

Before routing public calls here, dial the group’s internal number from a test phone. Check which phones ring, answer on one, and confirm that the others stop. Then test the no-answer route. Once both paths work, you can use the group as a destination for a public number or a call flow.
