Set up SignalWire messaging
This provider is available in the SessionCloud messaging settings.
Open your BYO PBX project in Provisioning > Advanced > Messaging, enable SMS, and select this provider under Incoming and outgoing SMS.
Connect your account
- Have your Space URL, Project ID, Compatibility API API key and separate Webhook signing key ready.
- Enter these values in the SignalWire settings and use Save at the bottom of the page. The Space URL must be your SignalWire Space address.
- Copy the generated Webhook URL. In SignalWire, configure the number’s messaging destination as a LaML/cXML webhook using HTTP POST.
- Set the number’s messaging webhook to the copied URL.
SessionCloud verifies SignalWire’s callback signature using the separate webhook signing key. The API token does not replace that key. The same connection URL serves all numbers assigned to that connection.
Supported features
Individual incoming and outgoing SMS is available. MMS attachment controls are not enabled. Verify delivery-status callbacks with your account during setup; carrier acceptance alone is not proof of handset delivery.
See SignalWire’s webhook security guide .
Connect the app and test
Assign each messaging number to its user’s exact SIP username and domain, then provide updated authenticated provisioning or an account provisioning QR code. See Connect the app.
Test sending, receiving, duplicate callbacks, offline synchronization and background notifications. Check the carrier’s records before resending a message whose delivery is uncertain. Keep credentials and private webhook URLs out of screenshots and support messages.
Compare all messaging providers, or use the troubleshooting guide if messages fail.
