Customer Workspaces
Each of your customers gets their own SessionPBX workspace, called a customer tenant. It has its own team members, extensions, SIP trunks and call routing, and its own subscription billed to your partner organisation.
You manage customer tenants from your partner workspace at cloud.sessiontalk.io/partners .
Your partner workspace
The partner workspace lists your Customer tenants. Search by customer or project name with Search customer or project, and select a customer to manage it. A tenant shows Suspended when you’ve suspended it.
Partner admins also see:
- Create customer tenant
- Billing & invoices. See Partner billing.
- Partner profile & team. See Set up your organisation.
- Your trial allowance, for example 30-day trials · 5 concurrent trials.
For partner-cloud and on-premises deployments, use the self-hosted tenant workflow.
Create a customer tenant
Only partner admins of an active partner organisation can create customer tenants.
- In your partner workspace, select Create customer tenant.
- Hosting & plan
- Under Deployment, choose SessionTalk Cloud. We host and manage the PBX.
- Choose a Billing period. Monthly or annual billing is available where offered.
- Under Choose a plan, select Teams Phone or Teams Business. Each card shows your partner price, the list price and the price per extra seat.
- On Teams Phone, you can tick Add logo branding. Logo branding is already included in Teams Business.
- Select Next, then fill in Customer details:
- Region: Europe (London), Americas (New York) or Asia (Singapore). Choose the region closest to your customer’s team. You can’t change it after the workspace is created.
- Customer name / reference: how the customer appears in your list, for example Acme Ltd.
- Customer admin email (optional): sends your customer an invitation to manage their workspace. Billing stays with you.
- Project name: 6–12 letters or numbers. It identifies the subscription and can’t be reused.
- Workspace address: your customer signs in at this address followed by the region’s domain, for example
acme.sessiontalk.ioin Europe,acme.us.sessiontalk.ioin the Americas oracme.asia.sessiontalk.ioin Asia.
- Select Review customer tenant and check the summary, including the Total partner price.
- Select Create tenant & start 30-day trial.
The customer’s 30-day trial starts straight away. SIP trunk charges aren’t included. Your customer pays them to their carrier. See Bring your own SIP trunk.
If the tenant is created but its trial couldn’t be started, the tenant page shows This tenant has no subscription yet. Select Start Phone trial or Start Business trial to try again. You won’t get a duplicate tenant or a second trial.
Trials
- Every customer tenant gets one 30-day trial.
- Your organisation can run a limited number of trials at the same time. The default is five, and your partner workspace shows your current limit. Contact partner support to raise it.
- Partner admins receive trial reminder emails with the subscription expiry date.
- A trial doesn’t turn into a paid subscription automatically, even if you’ve saved a card. Buy the subscription before the trial ends (see below). If you don’t, the trial subscription is cancelled when it ends.
Set up the customer’s phone system
On the customer’s page, under Customer workspace, select Open workspace as admin. You’re signed in to that customer’s SessionPBX workspace as an administrator, where you can manage users, extensions, SIP trunks and call routing. Your access is limited to that one customer.
- You don’t use a phone extension and don’t take up a seat.
- The session lasts 15 minutes. To keep working, open the workspace again from your partner workspace.
- Your email address must be verified to open a workspace.
To set up the workspace, follow the SessionPBX guides, starting with team members and extensions.
Change the plan, seats or branding
Under Plan & seats you can see the Current plan, Total seats, Current billing period, Status, Current plan price and the date the trial or current term ends.
- Change the Plan, Extra seats (5 included) or the logo branding option. The page shows the new Partner price for the total number of seats, before tax.
- Select Review plan change, read the summary, then select Confirm plan change.
- Upgrades are prorated straight away.
- Downgrades take effect at the end of the current term.
- During a trial, changes keep the original trial end date.
- Adding branding is prorated. Removing paid branding applies at renewal.
You can’t change the plan while another change is already scheduled. The page shows A change is scheduled for the end of the current term.
Buy the subscription
Under Tenant lifecycle, tick the box to start paid billing at your partner price, then select Buy subscription. Your partner organisation needs a payment method first. See Partner billing.
Confirm any unsaved plan changes before you buy.
Invite a customer administrator
Under Customer admin, enter an Email and select Send invitation.
Your customer accepts the invitation, verifies their email address and can then manage their own workspace. Customer administrators:
- see the workspaces assigned to them, marked Managed by your organisation name
- can’t see or change partner pricing, plans or billing. Instead they’re asked to contact you.
To remove a customer administrator, open Partner profile & team. Under Customer administrators, select Remove access.
Suspend, cancel or delete a tenant
All of these are under Tenant lifecycle.
- Suspend tenant restricts management of the customer’s workspace. It doesn’t cancel billing, and existing calling and messaging carry on. Select Resume tenant to undo it.
- Schedule cancellation: tick Cancel this subscription at the end of its term., then select Schedule cancellation. Service continues until the end of the term.
- Reactivate subscription: restarts a cancelled subscription at your current partner price. You need a payment method.
- Delete customer tenant permanently removes the tenant. Type the project name in Project name and select Delete tenant. A paid subscription must finish its cancellation before you can delete the tenant.
Move a customer to or from another partner
Moves between partners, or between a partner and SessionTalk directly, are handled by partner support and need the customer’s written consent. After the move, the new partner invites the customer’s administrators again.
