Your voicemail number comes from your phone service provider. Open Accounts and choose the account you want to set up.
Temporarily switch off Enabled to edit the account. Scroll down and open Advanced SIP settings.
Expand Voicemail and enter the provider’s mailbox access number. Our local test service uses star ninety-eight; your service may use a different number.
If your provider requires a subscription for message alerts, switch on Subscribe to voicemail notifications.
Save the advanced settings, return to the Enabled switch and turn the account back on. Save again and check that it registers.
An unread message adds a badge to the voicemail icon. Select it to see the message count, then choose Call voicemail.
Follow your service’s spoken prompts. Open the keypad to enter a PIN or choose an option. In this test mailbox, one plays the new message.
When you’ve finished listening, close the keypad and end the call.
The message count updates when the service reports the change. Our test message is now saved, with no new messages remaining.
