Adjust ringing and message sounds

The example uses incoming calls from an isolated local test service to compare ringing on and off.

Steps
- Open Settings → Preferences → Alerts and sounds.
- Use Incoming call sounds to control ringing, Message sounds for message alerts and Call waiting sounds for alerts during a call.
- Select the tick to save. Reopen the screen to check your choices.
- Test an incoming call. With ringing off, the incoming-call screen still appears.
- Restore the sounds you want and save again.

To change the sounds SessionTalk makes, open Settings and choose Preferences.
Open Alerts and sounds. Incoming call sounds controls ringing. Switch it on if you want to hear incoming calls.
Select the tick to save. You can reopen the screen to check your choice.
With incoming call sounds on, our local test call rings as expected.
Switch incoming call sounds off when you need silent ringing. Message sounds is a separate switch, so you can choose whether messages make a sound too.
Save the changes. Here, both switches remain off when we reopen the screen.
An incoming call still appears on screen with ringing off. This setting silences the alert; it doesn’t block the call.
Turn the switches back on when you want audible alerts again, then save. Call waiting sounds is a separate choice for alerts during an existing call.
