Set up and listen to voicemail

The local test mailbox uses *97; your provider may use a different number, PIN and menu. Message counts require supported voicemail notifications. This video demonstrates the app controls with narration; the mailbox prompts are not included in the soundtrack.

Steps
- Open Settings → Accounts, choose the SIP account, and disable it while idle to edit its settings.
- Open Advanced SIP settings → Voicemail and enter your provider’s voicemail number.
- Enable Subscribe to voicemail notifications if your provider supports it.
- Save, enable the account again, confirm Registered, and save the account.
- Tap the voicemail badge to view message counts, then choose Call voicemail.
- Use the keypad for the requested PIN and mailbox options. End the call when finished.

To set up voicemail, open Settings, Accounts, then your SIP account. Make sure you’re not on a call, and disable the account so you can edit it.
Open Advanced SIP settings and choose Voicemail.
Enter the voicemail number from your phone provider. Our test mailbox uses star ninety-seven, but yours may be different.
If your provider supports message counts, switch on Subscribe to voicemail notifications.
Save the settings and enable the account again. Wait for Registered, then save the account.
Back on Phone, the badge tells us there’s a new message in our test mailbox.
Tap the voicemail button to see the new and saved message counts.
Choose Call voicemail. Once the call connects, listen to your provider’s instructions.
Open the keypad if you’re asked for a mailbox PIN or a menu option.
On this test system, pressing one plays the message. Follow your own provider’s prompts to listen, save or delete it.
When you’re finished, close the keypad and tap the red button to hang up.
