Voiceflex

Voiceflex is a UK provider whose trunks authenticate with a username and password. Its service is registration-based, so SessionPBX signs in to Voiceflex rather than being recognised by address.

Voiceflex expects numbers in full international format, for example +441234567890.

Information to obtain from Voiceflex

• The SIP host to register to, with the port and transport
• Your UserID, username and password
• The realm or domain, if it differs from the host
• Your inbound numbers, and an authorised outbound caller ID

Voiceflex issues a UserID and a username that are often the same value. Ask which to use for authentication if they differ.

Add the trunk

1. Open the SessionPBX project and select Call Routing.
2. On SIP trunks, select Add trunk.
3. Name the trunk and choose Voiceflex as the Provider if listed, or Generic carrier (registration).
4. On Connection, enter the host, port and transport Voiceflex gave you.
5. On Authentication, choose Username and password, enter the credentials, and turn on Register to this carrier.
6. Leave Registration user blank unless Voiceflex gave you an address-of-record that differs from the username.
7. Enter your numbers on Inbound and your caller ID on Outbound.

Select Create trunk.

Confirm the registration

Check with Voiceflex that the registration is showing as active on their side before testing calls. A trunk that has not registered will fail every call in both directions.

The usual causes of a registration that does not complete are a realm that does not match, or a username and address-of-record that are not the same value.

Test

1. Call one of your numbers from an outside phone and confirm the right extensions ring.
2. Enable Outbound PSTN for one member, call a public number, and confirm two-way audio and the presented caller ID.
