Check audio and incoming-call permissions

M21 · Mobile · 1 minute 13 seconds

The recording shows Android permissions and available emulator audio controls. Connected accessories and iPhone system settings differ. Packet counters show media traffic, not whether either person can hear audio. Notification permission alone does not set up background push calls.

  2. Make a test call and check that the microphone is unmuted.
  3. Check the audio output and adjust volume while the call is connected.
  4. Tap the information icon beside the call timer to inspect Call statistics.
  5. Check sent and received data, then return to the call and test audio in both directions.
  6. If the problem continues, end the call and follow the logging tutorial.

If you can’t hear a call, or your alerts aren’t working, start in Settings, Permissions. Make sure Microphone is allowed.

Check Notifications and the call permissions shown on your phone too. Android and iPhone use different prompts. These permissions don’t, by themselves, set up background push calls.

Make a test call and check the microphone button. If it’s crossed out, tap it to unmute before asking whether the other person can hear you.

Check where the sound is going. The speaker control lets you choose the output available on your device.

Adjust the phone’s volume while you’re connected. That changes the call volume, rather than just the ringtone.

You can also tap the information button beside the timer to open Call statistics.

The sent and received packet counts show whether media data is moving. They don’t prove that either person can actually hear the call.

Go back to the call and check audio in both directions.

If the problem continues, hang up and follow the logging tutorial to collect details for support.
