Manage customer tenants
Use the partner workspace to find customer projects and open their PBX workspaces. A tenant is a customer’s phone system, with its own users, calling configuration, workspace address and subscription.
Create a customer tenant
Only an active partner administrator can create customer tenants.
- Select Create customer tenant and choose the deployment option.
- Choose Teams Phone or Teams Business, the available billing period and any logo branding option.
- Enter a customer name or reference and a unique project name of 6–12 letters or numbers.
- For SessionTalk Cloud, choose the hosting region and workspace address. You can optionally invite a customer administrator. For your infrastructure, supply the administrator email and select or deploy a server.
- Review the details and create the tenant. Creation starts its trial; review any provisioning or trial-setup message before continuing.
SessionTalk Cloud offers Europe (London), Americas (New York) and Asia (Singapore). Choose the region before creating the workspace; it cannot be changed in the creation workflow afterwards.
Configure the customer’s phone system
Open the customer project and select Open workspace as admin. This uses your partner account to enter that customer’s administrator workspace without sharing the customer’s password.
Use the existing SessionPBX guides to:
- Add team members and extensions, then install and provision their softphones.
- Connect a SIP trunk and route public phone numbers.
- Configure ring groups, queues and call flows on Teams Business.
- Set up voicemail and recording, and review call reports where the plan permits.
The partner portal controls ownership, subscriptions and deployment. The customer’s PBX workspace controls its day-to-day phone system. Hosted signup instructions in the general SessionPBX guide are replaced by the partner creation workflow above.
Before handing over, test extension calls, inbound and outbound carrier calls, voicemail and incoming mobile calls while the app is in the background.
Give people the right access
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Partner admin | Creates customer tenants and manages plans, billing, partner staff and customer administration. |
| Partner user | Configures the organisation’s customer tenants without partner billing or subscription-management permissions. |
| Customer administrator | Administers their customer’s workspace. Partner pricing and the partner billing account remain private. |
| Team member | Uses their assigned extension, softphone and member workspace. |
Invite colleagues through Partner profile & team. Keep at least one partner administrator and remove staff access when it is no longer needed.
For SessionTalk Cloud, use the project’s Customer admin controls to invite a customer administrator. For self-hosted tenants, use the customer administrator setup email or setup link provided after installation. Administrator access and a calling extension are separate: add a team-member account if an administrator also needs to make calls.
Manage changes
Use the customer project’s plan controls to review seats, plan and branding changes before confirming them. The billing guide explains trials, renewals and cancellation.
For a customer ownership transfer, contact SessionTalk with the project reference and requested destination. Transfers require a support-assisted ownership and billing review.
